Effective Monday, June 13, Archbold Memorial Hospital, Archbold’s Grady General Hospital and Archbold’s Mitchell County Hospital will update their visitor and mask policies due to a change in the CDC’s Community COVID-19 levels in Thomas, Grady and Mitchell counties.

Thomas County current level is MEDIUM.

Archbold announced on June 1 the implementation of a Visitation and Masking Response Level that defines family and guest access and masking requirements in all Archbold facilities. The levels are determined by the CDC guidelines for healthcare settings, several local indicators and data from the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels that determine the prevalence of COVID-19 in the community. The level is updated periodically as the data are revised.

Due to the low to medium levels increase, Archbold Memorial Hospital is now in yellow mode.

Archbold’s Brooks County Hospital will remain in green mode at this time as its community level is low.

Most significantly, the yellow mode indicates that masks are now required in all public spaces on the campus. Other changes are as follows:

Visitation is limited in the following areas:

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients may have two visitors at a time on a rotating basis
  • Labor and Delivery patients may have two visitors at a time with no rotation
  • Mother/Baby patients may have two visitors at a time with no rotation
  • Emergency Department patients may have one visitor at the bedside and one visitor in the lobby
  • Visitation is allowed at Archbold’s Northside Center for Behavior and Psychiatric Care on a case-by-case basis

•     No children under the age of 12 are allowed.
