Ashlund Edwards, owner of the The Silo 31626, alongside her business partner Josh Steinmetz, said that the beer garden provided a family-oriented space for drinks to be enjoyed and children to have a fun, safe place to play.

“So it’s just a family oriented place to relax, place where grownups can speak with their friends and can feel comfortable letting the kids run around with theirs,” she said, “It’s an enclosed, fenced area.”

Beer gardens, according to her, are open-door, outdoor areas, usually with picnic areas and nice shade, that offer alcoholic beverages.

The beer garden serves drinks such as Mango Cart Wheel Ale, Ace Pear Hard Cider, Miller Lite and GA Beer Blueberry Blonde, alongside a selection of food such as The Hen, a grilled or fried chicken on a bun, and The Seasonal Sow, made from locally-sourced, seasonal sausage.

Alongside hand-cut fries, they also offer a special burger, according to Edwards.

“We do a daily special burger where our chef kinda switches it up a bit; we call it The Special Heiffer,” Edwards said, “All of our beef and pork is from Herd and Passel.”

Fresh herbs, such as basil, parsley, mint and cilantro, are grown on the grounds of The Silo 31626.

The Silo 31626 is open on Friday through Sunday at varying hours depending on the day.
