THOMASVILLE — The layoff of more than a week didn’t seem to affect the Thomasville Bulldogs pitching staff.
Thomasville returned from an 11-day break Tuesday to blank Berrien 7-0 in a Region 1-AA game.
Gabe Duncan and Jadon Lirette combined to allow just three baserunners and gave up just one hit in seven shutout innings.
Duncan struck out 12 in six innings, retiring 10 of the first 11 batters he faced before allowing a fourth-inning single.
Lirette fanned one and walked one.
Gus Novak had a double and drove in two runs, and Witt Wetherington added a double.
Thomasville improved to 16-4 with the win.
