- Drew Giudice led the Brookwood boys to three straight region championships. He has accepted the position as head boys basketball coach at Nolensville (Tennessee) High School.
THOMASVILLE — After five seasons and 74 wins, Drew Giudice has resigned at Brookwood to accept the head coaching position at Nolensville High School just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
“The decision to leave Brookwood for this opportunity has been difficult,” Giudice said. “Brookwood is a tremendous school and Thomasville became home. Brookwood is an unbelievable community and there are many relationships we will miss.”
Under Giudice’s leadership, the Warriors have advanced to the state quarterfinals each of the last four seasons. The Warriors won three consecutive region championships in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
“Everyone knows about the success we’ve had in terms of the region championships and being competitive at the state level,” Brookwood athletic director Shane Boggs said.”The fact is Drew’s accomplishments are much deeper than that. He created a hunger to be great in basketball in boys from the ages of five to nineteen. Drew did a tremendous job as our sports information director, coaching our golf team, and excelled in many other areas at Brookwood.”
Last spring Coach Giudice led a talented group of golfers to Brookwood’s first state championship in golf in 37 years. They are off to a great start breaking multiple school records early in the 2022 season. The golf team has its sights set on another championship in 2022.
“Breaking the news to the players, present past and future, was awful,” said Giudice.”There are so many great memories from the five years here and players I was looking forward to coaching. The program is on a strong foundation and will be kicked up a notch by a great coach soon.”
Giudice plans to join his new team in mid-May and Brookwood’s search for the next head coach is under way.
“Nolensville’s basketball program will improve under Coach Giudice’s leadership. He has a thorough plan and brings an energy level that players and parents will respect,” Boggs said. “Brookwood will continue to attract quality coaches. Brookwood is a great school in a tremendous community. I expect our situation to be very appealing. We are already in discussions with quality coaches and expect to have a coach hired soon in order to maximize summer basketball scheduling. We have a great group returning at all levels and ‘m excited about watching them grow this summer and into the fall.”
