Diamond Dogs complete Cook sweep

THOMASVILLE — Jace Lowe’s run-scoring single to center field capped a three-run rally in the sixth inning, and the Thomasville Bulldogs held on to beat Cook 5-3 in a Region 1-AA baseball game Monday.

After a single and a walk, the Bulldogs (12-4) used a sacrifice bunt, a fielder’s choice and a ground to push across two runs. Lowe then delivered his clinching single.

Gabe Duncan pitched  a scoreless seventh to get the save. Anderson Everett struck out six and allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Ben Rawlings tossed a 2/3 scoreless innings to get the win. 

Lowe was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Witt Wetherington went 2-for-3 and Duncan recorded two RBIs.

The Bulldogs host Worth in a doubleheader Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
