Bulldogs take twinbill from Cook

The Thomasville Bulldogs completed a doubleheader sweep of Cook on Friday in extra innings.
After taking the opener 8-1, the Bulldogs took the nightcap 5-4 on Witt Wetherington’s eighth-inning sacrifice fly.
The Hornets tied the game 4-4 in the seventh with three runs. Jadon Lirette got out of a jam with two on and one out by striking out the last two batters. He also got out of a bases-loaded, one-out situation to end the game.
Anderson Everett, Ryan Renfroe, Gabe Duncan and Jace Lowe each went 2-for-4 in the nightcap. Jacob Jordan had a double.
Duncan fanned 14 in 5 2/3 innings and gave up just one hit in the opener.
Wetherington was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Everett went 2-for-4, Lowe was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Gus Novak was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
With the wins, the Bulldogs improved to 11-4.
