VALDOSTA — Cooper Melvin doubled and drove in two runs and the Lowndes Vikings posted a 10-0 win over Thomas County Central on Tuesday.

Two Vikings pitchers held the Yellow Jackets to five hits. Adam Lane had a double in the loss.

Lowndes piled up 14 hits, as Melvin went 2-for-3. Cooper Scruggs was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Carson Page, Ty Bridge and Tate Sirmans each went 2-for-3. 

Mason Steel also picked up two RBIs for the Vikings.

Thomas County Central (2-2) will be home this weekend for the Jacket Diamond Day. The Jackets will host Pike County on Friday at 5:45 p.m. and will host Colquitt County on Saturday at 6 p.m.
