“I can’t say enough about how Max Windham pitched tonight,” Cairo coach Chad Parkerson said. “He’s a player, and he loves to compete. He puts in the work and does whatever the team needs. Tonight, he made pitches when he had to and our defense played great behind him. Will Prince did a great job behind the plate as well.”

Thomasville limited Cairo to just two hits, one by Christian Maige and Mo Wilson. Maige collected the Syrupmakers’ only RBI of the game in the second inning. Gabe Duncan allowed zero hits, zero runs and one walk in 3 2/3 innings. Jacob Jordan allowed just two runs, two hits and six walks in 3 1/3 innings.

“Thomasville is a really good team. Jordan and Duncan are legit pitchers at any level. Our boys battled at the plate, and we were fortunate enough to scratch a couple of runs across,” Parkerson said.

The loss was Thomasville’s first of the season. The Bulldogs had scored 43 runs in three wins to start the season.
