VALDOSTA – Lowndes senior guard Aaron Williams got a game-winning layup with less than 30 seconds remaining, and the Vikings held on to beat Thomasville 55-54 Wednesday.

The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Bulldogs (11-3).

JC Riley, Lowndes’ 6-foot-9 center, had 17 points, and Williams added 13.

JJ Williams added 12 points and six assists for the Vikings. 

Thomasville visits Fitzgerald on Saturday in a Region 1-AA game and hosts Lowndes on Wednesday.
