Archbold system has two COVID-19 positive patients

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there are two COVID-19 positive patients at its facilities.
There have been 15 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week across the Archbold system. The system has had 622 new negative results. Two people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19.
The system recorded one death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were two COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were no COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, Brooks County Hospital or Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
Neither of the two current COVID-19 positive patients in Archbold hospitals had received the vaccine.
Archbold wil host a vaccine clinic for those age 5 and older January 5 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in Williams Auditorium at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
As of Tuesday, more than 21,550 Thomas County residents, 48% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 51,380 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents, according to the state Department of Public Health. In all, 30% of Thomas County residents have received full vaccination and an additional dose.
Grady County has had more than 24,680 vaccines administered, with more than 10,570 people, 43% of the population, being fully vaccinated. According to the state DPH, 26% of Grady County residents are fully vaccinated and have received an additional dose.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 6,098 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 162 deaths. There also have been 550 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 25 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 2,450 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 66 deaths and 243 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 16 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 1.3 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 26,144 deaths and more than 92,050 hospitalizations.
More than 13.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.8% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 26,021 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 13 million vaccinations, and 53% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.47 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
