CAIRO — Seven male suspects have been arrested and charged following a Saturday home invasion that involved an elderly victim.
According to reports, on December 18 at around 12:50 a.m., multiple intruders broke into a 4th Street home where the elderly victim was sleeping.
Once awakened by the break-in, the victim confronted the group of suspects and the victim and the suspects exchange gunfire.
The victim was shot once and although the homeowner was armed and shot back at the intruders, no evidence indicated that any of them were shot, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

Five of the suspects are identified as juveniles while two are adults identified as Dekalin Williams, 17, and Jeremy Williams, 17.
