The September 26 wreck resulted in the death of Florida State University student Nora Cooney.

Both drivers were traveling down Highway 319 at around 3:45 a.m. in Grady County, only Gallo was traveling southbound down the four-lane highway in the same left lane Cooney was traveling northbound in.

Cooney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Derrick Pitts said Gallo sustained serious injuries from the wreck.

“To my understanding I think she’s doing rehabilitation from her surgeries,” he said.

Gallo was arrested back in 2017 for an alleged DUI for which she was not convicted.
