THOMASVILLE — Police are currently looking for two suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night.
The victim, according to police, was walking down a road near Lester and Hopkins streets at around 8 p.m. when he was approached by his ex-girlfriend.
The two were having a conversation when suddenly two masked male suspects forced them into a nearby alleyway and assaulted the male victim at knife point.
“At one point the victim appeared to be losing consciousness during the assault, but he was able to quickly come out of that,” said Lt. Toby Knifer, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander.
After stealing the victim’s personal items, the two male suspects fled the scene.
The victim’s ex-girlfriend was present during the entire incident and while she wasn’t involved in the physical assault, police confirmed she was actively involved in the incident.
Once the armed robbery was reported, police deployed K9 assistance and tracked the suspects to the ex-girlfriend’s home at a Hopkins Street address.
“She was present, but the two males were not at the time,” Knifer added.
Police arrested the female suspect after further confirming her involvement in the armed robbery.
“At this time, we are attempting to identify the two males that were actually involved in the physical assault of the victim,” Knifer said.
Tah’keya Hardy, 22, is charged with armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
