TALLAHASSEE, Florida —Envision Credit Union (Envision) recently donated more than $12,000 to local charities through its “Jeans for Charity” program, which encourages employees to get involved and support organizations throughout the North Florida and South Georgia region. This year, each department at Envision was able to choose a charity that mattered most to them to donate their “Jeans for Charity” money. The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center of Thomas County, Big Bend Hospice, National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA), Feed the Children, and One More Child of Tallahassee were a few organizations selected by Envision employees.
Envision launched its “Jeans for Charity” program in 2015, allowing all Envision employees the option to wear jeans to work each Friday. The only requirement is that the employee makes a $1 donation to the “Jeans for Charity” fund. Funds are collected once a year and donated to charities chosen directly by the employees. This year Envision matched all donations for a grand total of $12,000.
“We are thrilled with the generous donations from our team members,” said Kelli Walter, vice president of community development at Envision Credit Union. “These funds will directly support organizations that mean something special to our employees and the communities we serve. Fridays are much more than a chance to dress down. Jeans for Charity has helped foster a culture of giving back at an individual level versus a corporate level and it is a very meaningful program to our staff.”
Envision Credit Union is comprised of dedicated employees who aim to make a difference in their community. “Jeans for Charity” allows Envision employees to raise money and give back to various organizations each year.
