Quigg earns juris doctor from Mercer

Courtney Quigg

Courtney Jean Quigg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Quigg (Dr. Jean Quigg) of Bishop, Georgia, and  granddaughter of Mrs. Teel Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Quigg of Thomasville, graduated in May from Mercer University School of Law with her Juris Doctor degree and has passed the Georgia Bar Examination. 

Of all the first-time takers of the Georgia Bar Exam in July, 79.9% passed. Results of the July exam were received October 22, and Quigg was sworn in October 27 by Judge Eric Dunaway in Fulton County.

Quigg received the Mercer University School of Law Outstanding Solicitor Award and was honored at graduation. In addition, she earned her Advanced Legal Writing Certificate and received the CALI Award for Excellence while in law school. She is also a certified mediator. While at Mercer, Quigg was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society; president of Mercer Fellowship of Adolescent Mentors; Mercer Advocacy Council member; Negotiations Team member; Mercer Law School Student Ambassador; Law Student Coalition for Civil Rights, Presidential Liaison; Mercer Association of Women Lawyers, member; and member of the American Bar Association. Before attending law school, Quigg received her Bachelor of Science in agribusiness from the University of Georgia where she graduated magna cum laude in December 2017. 

She is also an honor graduate of North Oconee High School in Bogart. 

She interned during the summers before and during law school at the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s Office in Athens, Georgia; Flowers Foods, Inc. in Thomasville; and Bowen Law Group in Savannah. 

She is currently an associate attorney at Lisa Shippel Law, LLC, in Alpharetta. Her firm specializes in real estate, estate planning, and business contracts.
