Mobley, Chastain, Scott win city council races

THOMASVILLE — Voters are returning one current member and one former to Thomasville City Council and are putting a new council member in office.
Incumbent Todd Mobley kept his city council al-large seat, beating challenger Micah Graham 1,782 to 929.
Former council member Terry Scott unseated incumbent Greg Hobbs, who is also the mayor, from his District 1, Post 2 post, getting 676 votes to Hobbs’ 406.
Scott Chastain defeated incumbent District 2, Post 2 council member David Hufstetler 1,278-437.
Votera also overwhelmingly approved the Thomasville City Schools’ bond referendum by a 2,183-510 margin.
In other municipal elections, Lavone Shiver defeated Mitchel Brown 138-84 for the Boston City Council Post 2 seat. Richard Reynolds defeated David Lauer 125-101 for the Boston City Council Post 5 seat.
In Meigs, the top three vote-getters for city council were Catherine McNiel, Edward Eason and Lizzie Battle.
The top three vote-getters for the Pavo City Council were Larry L. Williams, Cleveland Shy and Joey Kae Dean.
