Archbold positive COVID-19 tests fall to 9 for the week

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been nine new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 692 new negative results. Three people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19
The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were two COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There was one COVID-19 positive patients at Mitchell County Hospital, and none at Grady General Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
Of the current three COVID-19 positive patients in Archbold hospitals, two had not received the vaccine. There is one COVID-19 patient in critical care and one COVID-19 patient on a ventilator.
All eligible community members are able to receive their first, second and booster shots at the Archbold vaccine clinic. The clinic is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Williams Auditorium at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Archbold is providing only the Pfizer vaccine at this time.
As of Tuesday, more than 21,190 Thomas County residents, 47% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 46,670 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.
More than 23,310 people, 52% of the county’s population, have received at least one dose.
Grady County has had more than 22,430 vaccines administered, with more than 10,490 people, 42% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state has issued more than 11.36 million vaccinations, and 50% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.19 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
