LOS ANGELES — Chris Taylor hit three home runs and drove in six runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers staved off elimination with an 11-2 win over the Atlanta Braves on Thursday in their National League Championship Series.
The series, which the Braves lead 3-2, moves back to Atlanta for Game 6 Saturday.
The Braves, seeking their first trip to the World Series since 1999, jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Freddie Freeman’s two-run blast off Joe Kelly in the top of the first inning. Kelly, the first of a series of relievers to pitch for the Dodgers, left after 2/3 of an inning with an injury.
But the bullpen arms summoned after him shut down the Braves, holding them to three hits the rest of the way.
A.J. Pollock got the Dodgers on the board with a solo homer off Max Fried in the second, and Taylor followed with a two-run shot.
Taylor’s single in the third made it 4-2 and he added a second two-run homer in the fifth. He belted a solo shot in the seventh.
Pollock hit a three-run homer in the eighth.
