Thomas County records just 58 new COVID cases in last two weeks

As of Friday, more than 20,840 Thomas County residents, 47% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 45,250 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.
More than 23,030 people, 52% of the county’s population, have received at least one dose.
Grady County has had more than 21,650 vaccines administered, with more than 10,270 people, 41% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 6,006 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 157 deaths. There also have been 507 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 58 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 2,385 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 64 deaths and 228 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 58 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 1.25 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 23,869 deaths and more than 83,840 hospitalizations.
More than 12 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.5% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 25,996 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 10.86 million vaccinations, and 49% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.07 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
