Kingdom Choir cancels TEF December concert date

The Kingdom Choir, the dynamic British gospel ensemble set to perform as Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s next series concert, is being forced to cancel its December 7 concert date.
While the U.S. State Department has announced plans to ease restrictions for foreign travelers beginning sometime in November, that change in policy comes too late for some overseas performing artists with pending engagements in the United States through 2021.

“Unfortunately, that includes The Kingdom Choir, whose management has just notified us of a necessary cancellation of their Thomasville concert and the rest of their US tour,” said TEF Executive and Artistic Director Rick Ivey. “Faced with that news, we are refunding all ticket purchases for The Kingdom Choir concert. Checks are already written and were mailed on Friday.”
Ivey called the cancellation a disappointment but added that TEF is already actively negotiating with The Kingdom Choir and their management, IMG Artists, to bring the gospel choir to Thomasville next season.
“We understand that COVID-19 continues to be a complicating factor all over the country, and we appreciate the understanding of our patrons and supporters,” he said.
