Archbold system admits 31 new COVID-19 patients over the last week

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 149 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 839 new negative results. Thirty-one people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19.
The system record five deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were 41 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were two COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, six at Mitchell County Hospital and none at Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 31,892 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
Also as of Tuesday, 40 of the current 49 positive COVID-19 admissions have not been vaccinated.
Fourteen of the 18 patients in critical care have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, and none of the eight patients on ventilators have been vaccinated.
Archbold is switching its vaccine operations to solely walk-in clinics every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Williams Auditorium. No appointment is necessary.
As of Tuesday, more than 19,620 Thomas County residents, 44% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 41,970 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.
More than 22,510 people, 50% of the county’s population, have received at least one dose.
Grady County has had more than 20,260 vaccines administered, with more than 9,510 people, 38% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 5,808 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 145 deaths. There also have been 463 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 464 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 2,245 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 61 deaths and 214 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 140 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 1.19 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 21,563 deaths and more than 78,750 hospitalizations.
More than 11.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.6% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 62,649 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 10.28 million vaccinations, and 46% of all Georgia residents, more than 4.81 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
