44 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 380 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 1,143 new negative results. Thirty-seven people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19. 

The system record four deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were 44 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were nine COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, two at Brooks County Hospital and eight at Mitchell County Hospital. There are two COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

The system also has administered 30,523 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.

Also as of Tuesday, 61 of the current 65 positive COVID-19 admissions have not been vaccinated. Of the 23 patients in critical care, none were vaccinated, and of the 15 patients on ventilators, none had received the vaccine. 

Archbold is switching its vaccine operations to solely walk-in clinics every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Williams Auditorium. No appointment is necessary.

As of Tuesday, more than 17,920 Thomas County residents, 40% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 38,890 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.

Grady County has had more than 18,350 vaccines administered, with more than 8,400 people, 34% of the population, being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 5,088 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 132 deaths. There also have been 423 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 620 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 2,049 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 57 deaths and 203 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 149 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 1.09 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 19,684 deaths and more than 73,260 hospitalizations.

More than 10.47 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.2% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 90,570 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. 

The state has issued more than 9.7 million vaccinations, and 43% of all Georgia residents, more than 4.5 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
