Thomas County COVID-19 vaccinations continue to increase

As of Monday, more than 15,480 Thomas County residents, 35% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 32,130 doses of vaccine have been administered.

Grady County has had more than 14,750 vaccines administered, with more than 7,220 people, 29% of the population, being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,760 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 116 deaths. There also have been 369 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 75 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 1,633 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 51 deaths and 189 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 13 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 907,600 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,575 deaths and more than 65,560 hospitalizations.

More than 9.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.5% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 5,522 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. 

The state has issued more than 8.42 million vaccinations, and 39% of all Georgia residents, more than 4 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
