Archbold system gets slight uptick in COVID-19 cases

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 25 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 412 new negative results. Three people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were three COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were no COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, Brooks County Hospital or Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, Glenn-Mor Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center.
The system also has administered 27,742 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
Since testing began March 11, 2020, the Archbold system has recorded 3,973 positive tests, with 35,961 negative results. Since the pandemic’s start, Archbold’s facilities have had 1,336 hospital admissions for COVID-19 and 173 total deaths.
As of Tuesday, more than 15,330 Thomas County residents, 34% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 31,810 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 14,610 vaccines administered, with more than 7,740 people, 29% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,718 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 116 deaths. There also have been 364 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 44 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,628 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 50 deaths and 189 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 10 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 905,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,534 deaths and more than 65,200 hospitalizations.
More than 9.1 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.6% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 3,991 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
Across Georgia, more than 8.34 million vaccinations have been issued, and 38% of all Georgia residents, more than 4 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
