No COVID-19 positive patients at any Archbold facility

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been seven new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 519 new negative results. Four people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system recorded one death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were no COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Grady General Hospital, Brooks County Hospital or Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, Glenn-Mor Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center.
“A momentous day today, for the first time since March 2020, Archbold is reporting zero inpatient cases within our system,” said Archbold CEO Darcy Craven. “While this is a significant benchmark for Archbold, symbolizing a hopeful new phase in our fight against COVID-19, there are still positive cases within our communities. In order for us to continue to see little to no new inpatient cases, we must do our part in the fight against this deadly virus. I strongly encourage you to get vaccinated if you have not done so. A strong reminder that the virus can still claim lives.”
The system also has administered 27,546 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, more than 14,860 Thomas County residents, 33% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 30,980 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 14,160 vaccines administered, with more than 6,850 people, 28% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,673 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 114 deaths. There also have been 364 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 22 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,619 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 49 deaths and 189 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 15 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 901,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,407 deaths and more than 64,600 hospitalizations.
More than 9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.7% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 3,937 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 8 million vaccinations, and 37% of all Georgia residents, more than 3.82 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
