THOMASVILLE — The suspect involved in the box cutting assault that occurred on May 27 is now a suspect in two more assaults, officials say.
On June 11, deputies responded to Wood Valley Apartments in response to an adult assault.
The suspect, Takeira Jones, a 23 year-old women, was previously charged with aggravated battery and child cruelty for an assault that happened at U.S. 319 South Mobile Home Park, where Jones reportedly cut her boyfriend with a box cutter in front of a 10-year-old boy.
Thomasville police officers were dispatched to the complex and made contact with the victim, said Lt. Toby Knifer, the TPD Criminal Investigations Division commander. The victim, Knifer said, was was substantially cut on his side.
“Through that investigation, we have determined that Ms. Jones was the individual that cut him.“ Knifer said.
Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Tim Watkins said Jones was released on a $4,600 bond from that case, but was then involved in Friday’s assault and another assault incident.
“She was released on bond and while out on bond she was involved in a second cutting on Friday. And then on Wednesday, she was involved with an assault on one of the witnesses in a case that she was arrested on,” Watkins said.
Watkins said Jones and some of her friends refused to let the witness leave an apartment on June 9 and proceeded to badly beat her. The victim was sent to Archbold Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Lt. Knifer said the victim in the second cutting incident was identified as Ricardo Neloms, a 36-year-old male, who was also charged with assault.
“During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the victim himself was also a party in the assault,” Knifer said. “He has been charged as well for his involvement with a simple battery family violence and then stemming from that is when Jones cut him, and that’s why we’re looking for her now.”
Officials said Neloms was treated and released from Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Jones is currently facing aggravated assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intimidating a witness charges. Lt. Knifer said police are searching for her and that any information of her whereabouts will be helpful.
“We’re asking for her to turn herself in or if someone in the community happens to know where she’s at, to call us and let us know and they can remain anonymous if they choose,” Lt. Knifer said.
