Thomas County full COVID-19 vaccinations top 13,000

As of Monday, more than 13,010 Thomas County residents, 29% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 27,470 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 12,780 vaccines administered, with more than 6,120 people, 25% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,650 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 114 deaths. There also have been 362 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 31 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,601 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 49 deaths and 187 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 17 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 897,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 18,190 deaths and more than 64,000 hospitalizations.
More than 8.8 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.8% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 4,663 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 7.6 million vaccinations, and 34% of all Georgia residents, more than 3.57 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
