Number of Archbold vaccine doses nears 27,000

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 38 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 630 new negative results. Fourteen people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system recorded three deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were eight COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, four at Grady General Hospital, and none at Brooks County Hospital or Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there is one COVID positive patient at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home and none at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center.
The system also has administered 26,908 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, more than 12,390 Thomas County residents, 28% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 26,250 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 12,110 vaccines administered, with more than 5,770 people, 23% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,619 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 114 deaths. There also have been 355 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 41 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,583 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 47 deaths and 181 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 24 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 894,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,962 deaths and more than 63,300 hospitalizations.
More than 8.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 7,060 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 7 million vaccinations, and 31% of all Georgia residents, more than 3.2 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
