Thomas County’s fully COVID-19 vaccinated tops 12K

As of Monday, more than 12,000 Thomas County residents, 27% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 25,000 doses of vaccine have been administered.
Grady County has had more than 11,800 vaccines administered, with more than 5,570 people, 22% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,607 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 114 deaths. There also have been 352 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 62 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,573 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 47 deaths and 177 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 29 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 890,500 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,804 deaths and more than 62,600 hospitalizations.
More than 8.5 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.1% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 9,029 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 6.8 million vaccinations, and 30% of all Georgia residents, more than 3.1 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
