Bulldogs sweep Dodge County

THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the first game of their Class AA state baseball playoffs series with Dodge County — and put the series away with 11 runs in the third inning of Game 2.

The Bulldogs took Game 1 11-8 and finished off the visiting Indians with an 18-0 Game 2 blowout. Gabe Duncan had a no-hit bid borken up with two outs in the fourth. Duncan struck out five and walked three.

The game called after four innings because of the mercy rule. 

Dodge County pitchers issued eight walks and hit four batters in the second game. 

Five of the runs in Game 2 came via either a walk or a hit batter with the bases loaded. The Bulldogs got four runs in the fourth inning one just one hit. 

Anderson Everett went 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Witt Wetherington went 3-for-3 with a double. Duncan hit a solo homer, Jacob Jordan, Jace Lowe and Jack Thompson each drove in two runs and Jadon Lirette added a double.

Brendan O’Connor was homered twice and knocked in four runs for the Indians in Game 1. The Indians finished with 12 hits, four of them for extra bases.
