Archbold’s COVID-19 vaccines top 24,000

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 26 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 637 new negative results. Nine people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were six COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, and none at Grady General Hospital,Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. 

The system also has administered 24,259 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.

Archbold’s vaccine clinic is accepting walk-ins with no appointment necessary. Clinic hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Archbold is administering the Pfizer vaccine to all adults and to children ages 16 and 17 with a parent or guardian present. 

The walk-in clinic is located in the Williams Auditorium in the East Tower. Parking is available in the employee lot off Pastime Drive.

As of Monday, more than 9,500 Thomas County residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 20,600 doses of vaccine have been administered.

Grady County has had more than 9,200 vaccines administered, with more than 4,290 being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,527 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 113 deaths. There also have been 347 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 30 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 1,523 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 46 deaths and 173 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 16 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 870,500 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,250 deaths and more than 60,650 hospitalizations.

More than 8.1 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.4% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 13,656 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. 

The state has issued more than 5.4 million vaccinations, and 21% of all Georgia residents have been fully vaccinated.
