More than one-fifth of Thomas County fully vaccinated

As of Friday, more than 21,200 vaccines had been administered in Thomas County, with more than 9,190 being fully vaccinated, according to the state Department of Public Health.
Grady County has had more than 9,000 vaccines administered, with more than 4,150 being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,519 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 113 deaths. There also have been 345 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 27 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,519 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 46 deaths and 171 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 12 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 866,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,180 deaths and more than 60,200 hospitalizations.
More than 8 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.4% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 13,022 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 5.1 million vaccinations, and 19% of all Georgia residents have been fully vaccinated.
