No new COVID-19 deaths across Archbold system

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 22 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 578 new negative results. Six people were admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were three COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, and one at Grady General Hospital. There were no COVID-19 positive patients at either Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 23,290 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
Archbold’s vaccine clinic is accepting walk-ins with no appointment necessary. Clinic hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Archbold is administering the Pfizer vaccine to all adults and to children ages 16 and 17 with a parent or guardian present.
The walk-in clinic is located in the Williams Auditorium in the East Tower. Parking is available in the employee lot off Pastime Drive.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,506 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 112 deaths. There also have been 344 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 18 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,510 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 46 deaths and 171 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added six new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 863,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 17,033 deaths and more than 59,900 hospitalizations.
More than 8 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.4% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 12,996 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 4.8 million vaccinations, and 17% of all Georgia residents have been fully vaccinated.
As of Tuesday, there had been more than 19,700 vaccines had been administered in Thomas County, with more than 8,860 being fully vaccinated. Grady County has had more than 8,760 vaccines administered, with more than 3,930 being fully vaccinated.
