Bulldogs edge Early, McDougald gets win 300

The Thomasville High School celebrates coach Erik McDougald's 300th win, a 1-0 victory over Early County, on Tuesday.

THOMASVILLE — Gabe Duncan’s one-out double in the third inning brought in the game’s lone run, and the Thomasville Bulldogs held on for a 1-0 Region 1-AA baseball win over Early County on Tuesday.

The win was also No. 300 in the career of THS coach Erik McDougald.

Ben Rawlings got the win, going the first five innings and limiting Early County to two hits, both singles. He struck out six and walked one. 

Duncan got the two-inning save, walking two and fanning three.

Early starter Christian Mincey gave up just four hits and walked three while striking out three in six innings. 

Thomasville will host Cook in a doubleheader Friday, with the first game to start at 4:30 p.m.
