COVID-19 hospitalizations down across Archbold system

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 56 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 702 new negative results. Nine people have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system recorded two deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were six COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, one at Grady General Hospital, and none at Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 13,363 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 3,351 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 100 deaths. There also have been 311 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 84 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,456 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 42 deaths and 161 hospitalizations attributed to the virus.
Statewide, there have been more than 794,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 14,176 deaths and more than 53,600 hospitalizations.
More than 6.8 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 11.1% for positive results.
