Archbold reports 125 new COVID positives for past week

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 125 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 794 new negative results. Forty-one people have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system recorded six deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were 30 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, 11 at Grady General Hospital, two at Mitchell County Hospital and none at Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 7,229 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
Archbold is still in Phase 1A of vaccine administration, which includes front line health care workers, first responders and individuals who are 65 years old or older.
COVID-19 testing is available at Archbold’s site on Pinetree Boulevard. You must have a physician’s order to be tested at that site. To schedule a testing appointment with the Health Department, call (229) 352-6567 or visit covid-19.dph.ga.gov.
The system has stopped temporarily scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments through its call center because of a shortage in the state supply. Archbold also currently is unable to schedule online vaccine requests.
Archbold officials said they anticipate honoring all currently scheduled appointments. Should that change, those who have made appointments will be contacted about rescheduling. If you do not receive a call, plan to receive the vaccine at your scheduled appointment.
