The Thomas County Central High School wrestling team will travel to Jefferson High School to take on Perry in the first round of the GHSA Class AAAA state team dual wrestling championship.

The Yellow Jackets advanced to the Elite Eight after winning their preliminaries against Spalding and LaGrange over the weekend. Central routed Spalding 84-0 in the first round and pulled out a 42-40 win over the Grangers to advance to the state duals meet. 

The Yellow Jackets won their first region title in 19 years when they beat Bainbridge 45-33, following a 61-25 win over Dougherty in the opening round.
