Thomas County tops 1,700 for total COVID-19 positives

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 33 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 566 new negative results. Twenty-three people have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system recorded no deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were seven COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, two each at Grady General Hospital and Mitchell County Hospital, and one at Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Pelham Parkway Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 1,709 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 77 deaths. There also have been 178 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Statewide, there have been more than 408,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 8,648 deaths in Georgia and more than 34,000 people being hospitalized.
