Thomas County Central High School held its first blood drive of the new school year Thursday, Nov. 12. Bloodmobiles, known as “The Big Red Bus,” from OneBlood parked onsite throughout the day for students, faculty and staff to donate blood.

Students age 16 or older — or who had parental consent — and whose application was approved had a specific donation time. Adults gave when their schedules permitted.

OneBlood staff and student volunteers practiced social distancing procedures to keep each donor safe during their donation.

Despite the reduced number of donation slots, TCCHS contributed 32 usable units.
