Garbage truck headed for landfill overturns

- A City of Thomasville garbage truck overturned on its way to the landfill Monday. Minor injuries were reported in the accident.
THOMASVILLE — Minor injuries were reported when a City of Thomasville sanitation truck overturned near the landfill on Woodruff Farms Road.
The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. Monday, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Steven Jones said. The truck was loaded with trashed and the weight may have shifted on the truck.
The truck’s material appeared to be contained within its container but Jones said they won’t know if any garbage got out of it until the truck is rolled back to an upright position.
