Archbold total COVID-19 positives top 1,550

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday that to date there have been 1,552 positive test results for COVID-19 across their system, with 97 deaths, since testing began March 11. There also have been 10,105 negative test results.
There have been 570 people admitted to Archbold hospitals since testing started. Over the past week, the system has had 46 new positive test results and 579 new negative results. Twenty-three people have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19. The system has recorded four deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were 18 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, eight at Grady General Hospital, and none at either Mitchell County Hospital or Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there is one COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home. There are no COVID positive patients at either Pelham Parkway Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 1,435 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 58 deaths. There also have been 159 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Statewide, there have been more than 296,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 6,398 deaths in Georgia and 26,665 people being hospitalized.
The state has administered more than 2.6 million tests.
