Thomas County COVID-19 cases now above 700

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday that to date there have been 886 positive test results for COVID-19 across their system, with 62 deaths, since testing began March 11. There also have been 5,954 negative test results. 

There have been 355 people admitted to Archbold hospitals since testing started. Over the past week, the system has had 113 new positive test results and 754 new negative results. Twenty-eight people have been admitted to Archbold hospitals in the last week for COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, there were 27 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital, four at Grady General Hospital, two at Mitchell County Hospital and one COVID-19 positive patients at Brooks County Hospital.

Archbold also is reporting there are 28 COVID positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home. There are no COVID positive patients at either Pelham Parkway Nursing Home or Mitchell Convalescent Center. 

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 714 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 34 deaths. There also have been 102 people to be hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus.

Statewide, there have been more than 148,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 3,254 deaths in Georgia and 15,494 people being hospitalized.

The state has administered more than 1.2 million tests.
