TCCHS sets stage for outdoor graduation

The stage has been set for the commencement exercises for Thomas County Central High School, the first graduation to be hosted at the Jackets’ Nest in 30 years. The last county school graduation to be held in the stadium was in 1990, the year before the “new” Thomas County Central High School opened on the 84 Bypass.
Social distancing regulations brought on by the coronavirus have driven the ceremony outdoors where graduates will be seated six feet apart on the football field. Each family group will be separated by at least six feet with seating on the field and in the bleachers on both sides of the field.
The much anticipated graduation will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
