CAIRO — Grady County officials plan to meet later this month to discuss the future of Tired Creek Lake consultant Will Butler.
A private meeting between Butler and an undetermined group of county officials has been tentatively scheduled to take place April 22.

County Administrator Buddy Johnson said the meeting will discuss progress on the Grady County Growth, Marketing and Development Committee and how Butler will fit in to the future of the Tired Creek Lake project.
“And he does fit — let’s be clear there,” Johnson said. “He can mold to whatever we need.”
Johnson was unsure if the meeting will include a discussion of whether Butler’s services are still needed by the county.
“I don’t see us turning his services away at any point,” the county administrator said. “There may be some changes as to what he does.”
County commissioners discussed who would attend the affair in a public meeting last week, though no decision was ultimately made. Commissioner June Knight, whose district encompasses Tired Creek Lake, originally requested that a meeting take place with Butler for what Johnson described as “a candid conversation that needs to be had.” Fellow Commissioner Phillip Drew also requested to be present at the meeting, but agreed to attend only if commission Chair Keith Moye recommended that he do so.
No votes will take place during the meeting.
