THS takes two in Saturday action

The Thomasville Bulldogs made their trip to Valdosta on Saturday worth their while. 

The Bulldogs baseball team downed Madison County (Florida) 9-0 and capped the day with an 8-3 victory over Florida State University School.

In the opener, Hurston Waldrep fanned seven and allowed just two hits in four scoreless innings. Ben Rawlings threw three shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.

Jaylen Jones led the offense, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and driving in four runs. Jay Thomas also went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, hitting one homer, and Waldrep was 3-for-4 with a double. 

Nathan Smith went 3-for-3 as the Bulldogs poured out 14 hits.

Jacob Bradshaw struck out 10 and gave up one earned on seven hits over six innings in the nightcap. Gabe Duncan was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Witt Wetherington went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Harrison Stewart was 2-for-4. Smith also had a double.

Thomasville will host Cook on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
