THOMASVILLE — Inappropriate emails sent to a Scott Elementary School student’s school email resulted in a 62-year-old Thomasville man being charged with several sex-related crimes.
The email, which is to be used for homework and assignments, is monitored by the school.

Thomasville police were notified about the email during school hours Monday.
The emails solicited sexual contact with the student, said Lt. Toby Knifer, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander.
Kenneth Green, 107 Lucy St., was identified as sending the message.
“The child was interviewed at The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center and further corroborated the email and language,” Knifer said.
Green was located at his residence and taken into custody Tuesday. He is being held in the Thomas County Jail, pending arraignment.
The suspect is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.

“Further investigation determined sexual contact had taken place between Green and the child,” Knifer said.
