BLAKELY — The Thomasville boys won another Region 1-AA basketball title Saturday night, beating Early County 62-47.

With the win, the Bulldogs will open the GHSA Class AA state playoffs at home. They will face Bleckley County on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Early County, the No. 1 seed, won the girls region championship with a 70-46 win over Thomasville behind Makayla Timpson’s double-double. The junior had 27 points and 15 rebounds.

The Thomasville girls also will open the state playoffs at home against East Laurens. A date and time has not been set.
