CAIRO — The mother of a juvenile who was reported missing over the weekend has been charged with two misdemeanors.

Police say Kinnesh Moore had knowledge of her daughter Kadasia Hall’s whereabouts from the onset of a weekend investigation into her disappearance.

A statement released by the Cairo Police Department on Tuesday claims that Moore failed to disclose information regarding Hall’s location to investigators in order to keep her daughter away from the child’s grandmother, who has lawful custody.

Moore has been charged with one count of interference with custody and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both charges are misdemeanors.

The investigation is still ongoing and other persons of interest are being interviewed.

Hall, 14, had been reported missing from her Cairo residence last Friday after last being seen walking away alone. A two-day search by law enforcement concluded Sunday when she was found unharmed at a Thomasville residence with Moore.

Authorities released a statement Monday afternoon that they were determining whether to bring charges against Moore, stating that concern from members of the community over Hall’s disappearance and police resources expended on the search could have been preserved had she shared knowledge of her daughter’s location.

The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services has been contacted for the investigation.
