Bobby Ellerson, 34, of Moultrie, was charged with aggravated assault and murder in connection with the 2018 death of Otis Anderson.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man was charged Monday in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in 2018.

Bobby Durrell Ellerson, 34, 605 Third Street S.W., was charged with aggravated assault and murder.

Ellerson was charged in the death of Otis Anderson, 63. A family member checking on Anderson found his body about 9 a.m. Dec. 12, 2018, at his residence on First Avenue Northwest.

The Colquitt County coroner said the cause of death was not immediately known, but the Georgia Bureau of Investigation quickly said it was treating the case as a homicide.

Officials with the Moultrie Police Department deferred questions to the GBI on Tuesday. An email to the GBI did not receive a response by deadline Tuesday evening.
