Fellowship program
The City and Countywide Fellowship Program is planned for Sunday, January 12 at St. Mark AME Church, 700 Lester St. The program starts at 3 p.m. and the guest speaker is the Rev. Lonnie Robinson. The public is invited.
Concert
There will be a bluegrass gospel concert featuring Alan Sibley and The Magnolia Ramblers at Evergreen Baptist Church, 3610 Dixie Barwick Rd., Boston on Saturday, January 11 at 7 p.m. Alan Sibley is from Mississippi and is the host of the nationally televised “Bluegrass Trail” on RFD-TV. Celebration
Members of the Concerned Citizens Club and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration committee are holding events on Saturday, Jan. 18 in Boston.
The day begins at 8 a.m., with a prayer breakfast at the Concerned Citizens Community Center. Tickets are $5. The speaker for the program is Ben Williams Jr. of Atlanta, owner and CEO of Haul-lelujah Moving Company. He is a native of Boston, a graduate of Thomas County Central High School and of Valdosta State University.
At 11 a.m., a parade will be held in downtown Boston followed at noon with entertainment and activities in North Boston Park continuing all afternoon.
